Heather
Wells Mystery series are a combination between Chicklit comedy romance Novels
with Mystery in the mix. Although I can say that the series more leans towards
the romance of the Heroine, Heather Wells, than the mystery theme itself. There
are 5 books in total in Heather Wells Mystery series, and although it cannot
hurt to read the book in any order since the mystery storyline is different for
every book, but it is advisable to read according to their orders to follow the
romance journeys of all the characters in it. This series contains adult
content and some violence and murder (although not described in a vulgar way)
so I won’t recommend the series for kids under 18 years old.

kombinasi antara novel Komedi Romantis Chicklit dengan campuran Misteri di
dalamnya. Walaupun dapat aku informasikan bahwa serial ini lebih menitik
beratkan pada perjalanan cinta tokoh utamanya, Heather Wells, ketimbang tema
misterinya sendiri. Ada total 5 buku dalam serial Heather Wells Mystery, dan
walaupun tidak ada salahnya jika membaca bukunya dalam urutan apapun karena
masing-masing misteri dalam serial ini berbeda-beda dalam setiap bukunya, tapi
sangat disarankan untuk membaca buku dalam serial ini secara berurutan jika
ingin mengikuti perjalanan cinta para tokoh di dalamnya. Serial ini mengandung
material dewasa dan beberapa gambaran kekerasan dan pembunuhan (walaupun tidak
digambarkan secara terlalu vulgar) jadi aku tidak menyarankan serial ini untuk
dibaca bagi anak-anak yang belum berumur setidaknya 18 tahun.

Size 12 Is Not Fat is a story about a former teenage pop star,
Heather Wells after leaving her glamour life behind. With her father is in
jail, her mother ran off to Argentina with her manager and all of Heather’s
money, her recording label terminating her contract since she want to sing her
own songs and not the cheesy pop songs that her label throws at her to sings, and
her ex-fiancée, Jordan Cartwright betrayed her with the new rising pop star, Tania
Trace; Heather is currently working as an assistant dorm director for Fischer
Hall of New York College. Instead of touring from mall to mall, her life now
evolve around for taking care of college students. But she’s never happy to
live her new life than before, especially since she got the help from her
friend, new landlord and ex-fiancée’s brother, Cooper Cartwright. Cooper let
her stay in a small bedroom apartment in the 3rd floor of his house
near Fischer Hall rent free in exchange Heather help him with the accounting of
his small Private Investigation business. And she even enjoying her job with
the hope that she can apply for college education after her probation.
But
everything changed after there’s incident with a new student that died and
Heather didn’t believe it as an accident like everyone says. So when Heather
decided to investigate it on her own, she doesn’t only endanger her new career
but she also put her life in danger.
The story
in Size 12
Is Not Fat sets in New York City around Fall season, and quite
interesting with a lot of silly but clever humors. But I consider it as a light
chicklit reading material, not a mystery novel. Since even with the mystery
theme, the storyline still feels like a bit lacking of the thriller and
suspense, and without too much complicated clues and just a few twist of
surprises. But overall, that’s about it even though I quite enjoy reading the
book, Size
12 Is Not Fat is only serve as a light reading and the story just
ok, not really outstanding.

Cerita dalam Size 12 Is Not Fat terjadi di
musim gugur di New York City, and ceritanya terasa cukup menghibur dengan cukup
banyak humor dan kekonyolan-kekonyolan yang terjadi di dalamnya. Tetapi aku
mengkategorikan cerita ini masuk dalam cerita chicklit yang ringan, bukan
termasuk dalam golongan novel misteri yang berat. Karena walaupun terdapat
unsur misteri di dalamnya, namun buku ini terasa kurang “greget” dan tidak
banyak petunjuk-petunjuk yang terlalu rumit untuk dapat diikuti hanya dengan beberapa
kejutan di dalamnya. Tapi secara keseluruhan, walaupun aku cukup menikmati
membaca buku ini, Size 12 Is Not Fat hanya menjadi sebuah bacaan
ringan yang ceritanya cukup menghibur, namun bukan buku yang menurutku luar
biasa.

Former pop star
Heather Wells has settled nicely into her new life as assistant dorm director
at New York College—a career that does not require her to drape her size 12 body in embarrassingly
skimpy outfits. She can even cope (sort of) with her rocker ex-boyfriend's
upcoming nuptials, which the press has dubbed The Celebrity Wedding of the Decade. But she's definitely
having a hard time dealing with the situation in the dormitory kitchen—where a
cheerleader has lost her head on the first day of the semester. (Actually, her
head is accounted for—it's her torso that's AWOL.)
Surrounded by
hysterical students—with her ex-con father on her doorstep and her ex-love
bombarding her with unwanted phone calls—Heather welcomes the opportunity to

Hall. With the Basketball season approaching; her ex-fiancée’s upcoming wedding
with his current girlfriend; her dad appear in her doorstep needs a place to
stay after he got out of jail a few weeks before; her workloads as Assistant
Director for Fischer Hall; her friend, Frank, ask Heather to sing with him and
his bands in the local Pub; Math Class that Heather has to take and pass in
order to apply for her college major; and also with the snow storm approaching
New York anytime soon; so Heather really really doesn’t want to add any further
complication with involving herself with the murder investigation. But when the
situation gets out of control and she became a witness of an assault of one of
the cleaning staff of Fischer Hall, Heather finds herself caught in the middle
of a dangerous murder investigation.
Size 14 Is Not Fat Either sets in New York City, in winter time. The
book took place a few months after the ending of 1st book Size 12 Is Not
Fat. And like the 1st book, Size 14 Is Not Fat Either still
carry a mystery theme in in, along with romantic comedy chicklit. The story is light
and quite entertaining. Although not the best book out there, but I think this
book is still worth to read and take place in my bookcase.

Setelah kejadian bencana beberapa bulan
sebelumnya di Fischer Hall, Heather berjanji pada Cooper, Detektif Canavan dan
teman-temannya, Patty dan suaminya Frank, agar tidak terlibat lagi dalam
penyelidikan kasus pembunuhan yang kembali terjadi di Fischer Hall. Kali ini
korbannya adalah seorang mahasiswi Cheerleader dari tim basket New York
College. Dengan semakin dekatnya musim pertandingan liga basket antar college,
rencana pernikahan mantan tunangannya, muncul kembalinya ayah Heather yang baru
saja dibebaskan dari penjara, tugas-tugas yang harus dibereskan Heather dalam
menjalani pekerjaannya sebagai Asisten Direktur gedung tinggal (asrama) Fischer
Hall, permintaan dari Frank agar Heather ikut manggung bersama di sebuah Pub
menyanyikan lagu-lagu ciptaan Heather, dan juga kelas matematika perbaikan yang
harus diikutinya jika Heather ingin mengambil jurusan kuliah yang
diinginkannya, apalagi dengan adanya ancaman badai salju yang dapat menghantam
New York sewaktu-waktu, maka Heather memang benar-benar tidak ingin terlibat
dengan penyelidikan apapun dalam kasus itu. Namun ketika situasi menjadi
semakin tidak terkendali dan Heather menjadi saksi penyerangan terhadap salah
satu staff kebersihan, maka ia menjadi terseret dalam arus penyelidikan yang
semakin membahayakan.
Hmm, apalagi yang bisa aku katakan mengenai Size 14 Is Not
Fat Either… Buku ini bersetting 6 bulan setelah akhir di buku
pertama Size
12 Is Not Fat, dan sama seperti buku pertamanya, buku ini cukup
ringan dan menghibur. Walaupun memang bukan buku yang paling terbaik dari semua
buku-buku lainnya di luar sana, tapi aku pikir buku ini masih cukup layak untuk
dibaca dan dipajang di rak buku sebagai koleksi.

Big Boned still
tells Heather Wells’ life as an Assistant Residence Hall Director of Fisher
Hall. Only less than a year Heather is working at Fischer Hall, she’s already
experience working for three different Boss. The latest one just found dead,
shot in his head while drinking his morning coffee at his office. And he’s only
a temporary replacement for Director of Fischer Hall just until New York
College got a perfect candidate to fill in the position. Like that is still not
bad enough, things just get worse with the possibility of a massive strike by
the GSC (Graduate Student Community) along with other union. And when a Post
Graduate Student and head of GSC become the prime suspect of the murder, Sarah,
Heather’s Assistant Graduate, begs Heather to help prove her love interest is
not guilty, while Cooper already warns her not to intervene again with the
on-going police investigation which could put her in another danger position of
a brutal murderer.
Big Boned is the 3rd
book in Heather Wells series. The story sets in New York College in mid spring,
three months after the ending in Size 14 Is Not Fat Either. Big Boned
just like the previous books in Heather Wells series is a mix between mystery and
romantic comedy. Although the storyline is more towards to romantic comedy side
between Heather and all the guys surrounding her than the mystery itself. The
Mystery in this book more like an addition element, not the main focus of the
story. The story in Big Boned itself feels light and quite
entertaining with all of the chaos happens between all the characters in it,
although I can say that this is my least favorite book in the series. With fast
paced storyline, Big Boned feels a bit rushed. And while I do enjoying
reading this book, but the mystery part is not so satisfying.

Boned sama seperti buku-buku sebelumnya dalam serial Heather Wells ini
merupakan campuran antara cerita misteri dan komedi romantis. Walaupun
sebenarnya lebih banyak menitikberatkan plot cerita pada unsur komedi romantis
antara hubungan Heather dengan para pria di sekelilingnya daripada plot
misterinya. Untuk unsur misterinya sendiri lebih terasa sebagai pemanis
tambahan daripada menjadi fokus utama ceritanya. Cerita dalam Big Boned
sendiri terasa cukup ringan dan menghibur dengan segala kekacauan yang terjadi
dalam interaksi antara para karakter pendukung di dalamnya, walaupun harus aku
akui bahwa buku ini merupakan buku yang kurang bagus dibandingkan dengan
buku-buku lainnya di dalam seri Heather Wells. Dengan jalan cerita yang cukup
cepat, plot misteri dalam Big Boned terasa agak dipaksakan. Dan walaupun
aku cukup menikmati membaca buku ini, tapi nuansa misterinya kurang memuaskan.

quiet and peaceful summer for Heather and all the worker in Fischer Hall. But
when the college President agreed to open Fischer Hall for shooting a new
Reality TV Show hosted by Tania Trace, everything went from peaceful to chaos
and dangerous. Especially with someone wants Tania dead. Cooper and Heather are
trying their best to avoid another murder attempt happens in Fischer Hall.
In my opinion, Size 12 And
Ready To Rock is the best of all books in the series, both in
chicklit romance and the mystery part of the book. In this book, we got to see
closure of unsolved problems mention earlier in previous books between Heather
and Tania, and also between Cooper and his family. So it is a very interesting
book to read. With the same light tone of storytelling and humors in the pages,

Ready To Rock is quite an enjoyable book.

antara Cooper dengan para anggota keluarganya. Jadi menurutku buku ini cukup
menarik untuk dibaca. Masih dengan cara penceritaan yang ringan dan penuh

back to New York City one month before Heather’s wedding on October that year.

Wore Size 12, we got to see Heather resolved all of her problems in
the past before she faces her happily ever after with her soon to be husband,
Cooper Cartwright. We also have a surprise character, Lizzie Nichols, from
another series by Meg Cabot (Queen of Babble series) appears in last several
pages, when Heather makes her last fitting of her wedding gown. Just like the
previous books in the series, The Bride Wore Size 12 is full of witty humors
with light chicklit storyline. And finally Heather got her happily ever after.

Wells. Berlatar belakang New York College di bulan September, sekitar satu
bulan sebelum acara pernikahan yang sangat dinantikan antara mantan bintang
penyanyi Pop yang sekarang menjadi Assisten Direktur Gedung Tinggal, Heather
Wells dengan detektif swasta yang tampan dan sexy, Cooper Cartwright. Dengan

selamanya dengan calon suaminya, Cooper Cartwright. Di dalam buku ini juga ada
tokoh kejutan dari serial lain oleh Meg Cabot yang muncul, yaitu Lizzie Nichols
